Leisure Riding

Open to everyone at any level

All types of leisure riding are offered from 30 minute lead rein walks for small children (minimum of 4 years old) on quiet ponies, through to the more exciting one and two & half hour hacks for competent riders.

Lead Rein Walks

Lead rein walks are perfect for small children and adults too! With a minimum age of 4 years we do ask an adult to accompany with young children under the age of 8 years.

We can take lead rein sessions through the medium of Welsh if you would prefer – please state this when making your booking.

Half & Half

The Half & Half is the best of both. This is the ideal package for beginners who just want a taste of horse riding.

Riders will spend the first 30 minutes of the ride in one of our arenas where they will learn the basics of horse riding. Our very well educated instructors will show them everything they need to know so that in the last 30 minutes of the ride, they will go out around the lovely Rheidol countryside to put their skills to the test. This ride lasts for an hour which includes getting on, the tuition in the arena, going out for a ride and dismounting when arriving back at the yard.

Please be aware we do have a weight limit of 15stone for the welfare of our horses.

Hacking

Hacking is available all year round come rain or shine. From one hour rides to two and a half hour for the more experienced riders. The views around the Rheidol Valley are second to none.

Please note that riders MUST be competent and MUST be able to canter confidently. Please call the centre to ask about availability and book rides over the phone. We do take payment over the phone, so if you are making a booking, please have card details to hand.

All Day Rides

We can arrange all-day rides through the mysterious Cambrian mountains steeped in history.

This is only for our regular riders here at Rheidol who we know well and will need prior arrangement.

What To Wear

Safety helmets are compulsory and are provided free of charge, we have boots here of all different sizes.

Body protectors are compulsory for all cross country lessons and competitions and may be hired for £5.

We recommended wearing loose trousers, jeans are very restricting and will be uncomfortable.
